The Wild Peanut secures Harvey Nichols as first UK distributor

Luxury department store, Harvey Nichols has been announced as the first UK-wide retailer of The Wild Peanut - a selection of 100% natural, gourmet peanut butters. Created by entrepreneur Akeem Ojuko, The Wild Peanut produces peanut butter with a delicious twist - available in Chilli, Cinnamon, Honey, Chocolate and Banana flavours. The Harvey Nichol's listing comes shortly after The Wild Peanut, a recent business start-up, announced it had joined forces with world food experts Surya Foods to build its brand.

One of the UK's leading basmati rice brands, Laila Rice, is launching its most ambitious charity project to date – to donate one million servings of rice to the hungry via UK foodbanks and NGOs in India and Africa. During the campaign, which launches on May 1st, every promotional bag of Laila rice bought will build towards Laila's one million servings target. The Trussell Trust, which operates the largest network of foodbanks in the UK, has been announced as one of Laila’s key distributing partners in the UK for the project.

ASDA and world food specialists Surya Foods have rolled out three new Polish delis at stores around London.

Following the success of the concessions at Asda stores in Slough, Hounslow and Leyton, a further three delis -, specialising in fresh Polish meats, cheeses, dairy products, cakes, pastries, breads and other seasonal items - were rolled out late last year at Asda's Park Royal, Wembley and Colindale stores, with more openings expected in 2014.

Surya Introduces Rainforest gourmet snacks to the UK market

Surya Foods has collaborated with Ecuadorian natural gourmet snack company Samai to launch plantain crisps, a natural alternative to potato crisps, in the UK. Cassava is a nutritious tropical root that has 30% less fat and twice the fibre of normal crisps. Plantains are cooking bananas with even greater nutritional value than the normal banana.
